Wheatstone Academy accepts Christian students between the ages of 15 and 19. Our small-group format and low staff-to-student ratio (1 to 5) foster an environment where each individual student is heard. Wheatstone students have gone on to Ivy League universities, community colleges, Christian schools and secular schools. Our training is not tailored to any specific journey, but is designed to empower students pursuing any vocation. The need for a deep understanding and confidence in Christianity is real for all students.
All that is required of a student attending Wheatstone Academy is a willingness to work hard, to join in the conversations throughout the week, and to be an important part of the community of staff and students. Authenticity and openness are crucial for a student to reap the benefits of the Wheatstone experience.
The all-inclusive tuition reflects the quality of education and the community interaction at Wheatstone Academy. The personal time with distinguished scholars is highly valuable. Tuition covers all events: world-class art museums, musical concerts, theatrical productions, and outdoor adventures. We provide room and board on the finest university campuses, and all materials, books, food and transportation during the week are included.
Wheatstone Academy costs less than one week at a private university, yet the price includes so much more than a typical week at college. Wheatstone Academy is an investment that will return rewards for the rest of a student’s academic and spiritual life.
Thanks to the generosity of the supporters of Wheatstone Academy's ministry, we have a limited sponsorship fund to assist students in financial need. Scholarships are both merit and need based.

There are three critical criteria for working at Wheatstone Academy. First and foremost is Christian Commitment – that is, a passion for the person of Jesus Christ and the Truth of God as revealed in the Holy Scriptures. Second, there must be a clear display of academic excellence. Every staff member is an upper level college or graduate student, well-trained in the art of dialogue and student ministry.
The texts, lectures and events are specially chosen each year by the Wheatstone administration and board, who represent many years of student education and ministry. Topics are geared towards developing a cultural and historical sensitivity, an ability to learn within community in a discussion format, and an understanding of the ideas of Christianity and how they interact with and provide the foundation for human society. From the first Academy conference, Classical texts have held a crucial place in this curriculum. Christian texts or Scripture are also studied in a devotional setting.
Wheatstone Academy combines college-level teaching, discussions, events and community-building activity to create a unique and life-changing week. Please see the Conferences page for more details.
